Re: xp installation
I know this post is old, but just in case someone else runs across it needing help with the same issue....
Most computers will let you install XP with no problems. I've noticed that some newer computers mainly laptops have problems because the sound drivers designed for the motherboard are Vista Drivers and they won't install onto XP. That's pretty much the only issue i've ever found with them so far. I'm not sure about that link above. I install XP on multiple computers everyday with just Service Pack 2 and then it updates on it's own. By the end of the week you'll have SP3. My advice with SP3 though is to install it in safe mode if you can. It's the safest way to get it on your computer without any problems.
Note*: If you have a desktop computer and it won't let you install XP over Vista because of the sound drivers you can always pick up a sound card that's XP compatible to replace the onboard sound.
